The Fold of Unfolding Motion

The Fold of Unfolding Motion explores the intersection of photography, dance, and human expression through long-exposure imagery. Nisha Pradeep captures the ephemeral essence of movement, using fabric as both a prop and metaphor to visualize the relationship between the body and materiality. By collaborating with dancers and choreographers, she examines how motion communicates emotion and how fleeting gestures can be preserved in still imagery. Blending art and science, the thesis investigates the transient nature of movement, transforming it into a visual narrative that challenges the boundaries of time, space, and perception within the photographic medium.
